“…the planet’s top truffle dealer… in terms of the quality of his clients, his truffles, and even the information he puts out online, (Zak) Frost is tops.”

– The Observer Food Monthly (November 2021)

We hunt truffles. We import truffles. We supply truffles. In fact we pretty much live, sleep, eat and breathe truffles (definitely eat!)

As a highly specialized family business we work with just one product and we do it well. We are dedicated solely to the supply of the finest truffles available anywhere – to chefs, restaurants and wholesale.

Wiltshire Truffles was founded in 2010 by Zak Frost and his wife Nina. Their three sons Ollie, Magnus and Bertie are also gradually learning the business and are already truffle obsessed – a genuine family company. They are joined in Wiltshire by Operations Manager Cam, with help from Operations Assistant May, and Sales Ambassador Kimberley who is based in London.

Originally we sold only our own English truffles, personally hunted by our dogs, growing wild around a very special family farm at a secret location in Wiltshire.

Over the years our passion and love of truffles has led to us forming long term partnerships and lifelong friendships with other hunters and growers around the world.

Working with these exclusive partners, we source the finest truffles from five other countries, always importing them direct from the woods straight after harvest for the ultimate in freshness.

Every year we travel to all the countries from which our truffles are hunted – provenance, trust and quality are everything. Our partners are all very carefully selected for their dependability and for the unmatched quality of their truffles.

Meanwhile, we have planted large new woodlands in Wiltshire in the hope of dramatically increasing our supply of local English truffles in the future.

We deliver in person to Central London restaurants and we also ship using next day couriers all over the country and worldwide, in environmentally friendly wool lined refrigerated packaging.

We’re proud to work with most of the U.K.’s most respected chefs, who trust us to supply their truffles – a serious privilege that we never take for granted. In return we always go the extra mile for our customers and do everything we can to never let them down.

All the time we continue to learn more and more about this unique, wonderful and mysterious ingredient along the way.

Local Truffles

Our English black autumn truffles are personally hunted by us, growing wild in the woodlands of a unique and very special family farm at a secret location in Wiltshire.

The first truffle on the farm was discovered in 2004, entirely by accident, when one of the landowners stumbled upon it whilst out walking in the woods. Following identification, many more truffles started to be found in the area.

Since then the truffles have gradually spread further around the woodland on the farm and seem to get even more plentiful by the year. It is thought to be unique for so many wild truffles to be found in one small area.

Rumours of our fantastic truffles have been picked up by the national media and our woods have now appeared on BBC1: Saturday Kitchen and Countryfile, BBC2: Great British Menu, Sky News, iTV1, Channel 4 and BBC Radio 4, as well as in The Sunday Times, Country Life and The Guardian.

We use our trained dogs to hunt – Stanley and Freddie – going out two or three times each week during the season, which runs from the end of the summer through to around Christmas and sometimes beyond. Although the truffles are wild, we now actively manage the woods to help encourage and support them, for example selectively pruning the trees to allow more light in.

Over recent years new woodlands have been planted around the farm and elsewhere in Wiltshire on our own land, inoculated with our local truffle spore, with a view to continuing and increasing the supply for future generations. As well as the high quality of the truffles, our customers love the fact that they are buying a fresh, local, wild product.

Global Truffles

We put as much as love and care into sourcing truffles from around the world as we do when hunting them ourselves in Wiltshire. Working only with highly trusted long term partners and family friends, we visit them all regularly and know their woods almost as well as we know our own.

We work with hunters and growers in seven countries: Spain, Australia, Croatia, Italy, Hungary, Chile and France, always sourcing direct from the woods. All our partners are the very best at what they do, sharing our experience and passion for this magical ingredient.

Provenance, trust, quality and freshness are everything – we care so deeply about every truffle we supply and always demand the very best for all our customers; our truffles are the freshest and highest quality available anywhere.
