By making a purchase or by using this website in any way you agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions.
Please note that these terms and conditions are for users of our retail website and those making a purchase through our online shop at www.wiltshiretruffles.com. We have separate and alternative terms and conditions for our restaurant / account customers which are available on request.
Throughout these terms and conditions, and the website in general, the terms ‘we”, “us” and “our” refer to Wiltshire Truffles Limited.
If ordering fresh truffles, the weight you purchase will be the minimum you receive. Truffles are of course a natural product that do not grow to specified sizes, so you may well receive slightly more than you asked for, free of charge.
Fresh truffle orders may consist of either one single or multiple truffles to make up the weight you’ve ordered, depending on the stock that has been hunted and is available.
We do our best to keep our website up to date, but the world of fresh truffles moves fast – there is a small chance that we won’t have availability to fulfil your order on your specified day. In this case we’ll contact you and arrange an alternative delivery day or a full refund, as you prefer. All orders are subject to our acceptance and to item availability. We reserve the right to change our prices at any time.
We will always aim to have your item delivered on your chosen preferred day, but as we are subject to third party couriers this cannot be guaranteed. All orders received before 2pm will usually be delivered on the next working day, unless you specify a different delivery day. If your order is received after 2pm on a Thursday, or at any time on Friday, Saturday, Sunday or public holiday, your order will normally be received two working days after you have placed it, unless you specify a different day. Saturday delivery and delivery before 12pm are both possible for most (not all) postcodes at additional charge. We cannot deliver on Sundays or Mondays.
We use DHL because they offer the best service available, but no delivery service is perfect. We always use next day services as standard however, as with all courier services, next day or chosen day delivery is never guaranteed. If your order is for use on a specific date we strongly advise you to order it in time to arrive the day before you need it, in case of the event of a delay in transit.
You or another adult must be at your address to receive your order on the specified day and available to answer the door. Your order will usually be delivered between 8am and 6pm, unless a pre 12 service has been selected in which case it will usually arrive between 8am and 12pm. The couriers will not be allowed to leave your package without a signature, unless you have made arrangements directly with them to do so, in which case we bear no responsibility for these arrangements.
We will not be responsible for any items that are not delivered due to you being away from your address or unable to answer the door, or by you providing an incorrect or incomplete address. On dispatch and / or on attempted delivery you will receive a tracking number (if you have provided correct email and phone number details) and, if the courier is unable to deliver, it is your responsibility to contact the courier and arrange redelivery or collection from the depot.
International shipments are sent entirely at buyer’s risk, and we cannot be held responsible for any delay in transit or at customs.
All our shipments contain high value perishable products, they are well packed in sustainable chilled packaging for transit but should be refrigerated immediately on receipt.
We supply the freshest and very highest quality truffles, either personally hunted by us and our dogs or sourced from our exclusive long term partners abroad. In the unlikely event that you want to return a truffle or other product because you are not satisfied, please call or email us as soon as possible. As we sell highly perishable food items, any issues or complaints must be brought to us within 24 hours of your order arriving with you; we will not be responsible for any complaints received after this time.
Any claims for refunds will be dealt with on a case by case basis. If we agree that you have a valid claim for a refund it will be issued in full and without unnecessary delay. Please note that perishable foods are excluded from your statutory right to withdraw purchases within the seven working day ‘cooling-off’ period – the cooling off period does not apply to perishable food items. Under no circumstances will our liability for any transaction be greater than the price charged for the product(s) and/or service(s) pertaining to the transaction in question.
All images, text and other content on this website are the property and copyright of Wiltshire Truffles Limited and must not be copied, reproduced or used by you in any way. Images on our website are intended for guidance only; fresh truffles and hand-crafted truffle products can of course naturally vary in appearance.
Any commercial dealings or contracts entered into with us and the Terms & Conditions of Trade contained herein, shall be governed by English Law. Any disputes which may arise are subject to English Law and shall be addressed and decided exclusively by the courts of England.
